BODEGAS
DON NICOLÁS

The origins

Bodegas Nicolás was born from the vineyard and for the vineyard. Both the project and the winery were born from the idea of a small winegrower, who after having carried out several harvests in the Old World (France, Spain and Italy) decided to emigrate to Argentina in search of a new life. There he discovers a privileged land and an ideal climate to produce unique wines.

The first productions

The first productions are carried out in the basement of the family house, located near Maipú, something that was very common in several regions of France and Spain, where wine was made for the family. The success of the first productions and their great acceptance in nearby towns made Nicolás Osaba grow the idea of a larger winery, a life project.

Bodegas Nicolas was established in Maipú in 1962, the culmination of a dream.

Years of growth

Years continued passing and productions are increasing, forcing Nicolas to expand the winery up to two times, to respond to the national market and an increasingly important export market. In 2001 the next generation enters the scene, Valentina and Rodrigo Osaba, children of Don Nicolás, begin to work in the winery.

New challenges

During the last two decades the growth of the winery has remained unchanged, forcing the family to move its production to new plants, forced by an increasingly larger market. The philosophy has remained and will remain unchanged: passion for the land, tradition and quality, values that Nicolás Osaba instilled in the family and that continue to guide our steps today.
